R U L E S REGISTRATION You can register at each event individually, or you can register for a season membership. We have single memberships, as well as family memberships. Please visit our membership page for rates and details. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN All of the prizes and winnings for the 2008 series will be STRICTLY "Must Be Present To Win"...with no exceptions. This includes event cash, event raffle prizes, awards ceremony cash, and awards ceremony raffle prizes. This does NOT include banquet plaques...if you earn a series overall plaque, but cannot be present at the awards ceremony, you will still earn the plaque. EVENT PRIZES For 2008, we will again have mini-plaques for 1st thru 3rd in each class. In addition, race event winners will earn one(1) additional raffle ticket for use at the awards ceremony later in the year. In addition we will have prizes to be raffled off at the end of every event. You will receive a raffle ticket when you sign up for the day...one(1) ticket for the day total, not one ticket per entry. These prizes are donated by our sponsors, and it is a "Must Be Present To Win" raffle. After the event is concluded, we will hold the raffle for those items. Everybody who paid entry to Midwest Nitrocross points has an equal chance of winning, regardless of whether you won your main or ended up dead last. 50 / 50 RAFFLE Once again, in 2008 we will be holding a 50/50 raffle at each and every event. Tickets will be available for sale all morning, and the winning ticket(s) will be pulled just prior to the first main events. 50% of the cash will be forwarded to the award ceremony 50/50 drawing, and 50% of the cash will be paid to lucky ticket holder(s) the day of each race. This 50/50 raffle on the day of the race will again be a "Must Be Present To Win". Here is what is different for the 50/50 raffles this year. On raceday when you purchase your 50/50 raffle ticket(s), be sure to write your name CLEARLY on the back of all your tickets. At the awards ceremony at the end of the year, we will have kept ALL OF THE NON-WINNING 50/50 tickets and there will be final drawings for the 50/50 pot. The only people eligible for this "pot" are the people whose names appear on the tickets that we've saved all year. And you guessed it, it's a "Must Be Present To Win" raffle. So if we pull your name at the awards ceremony, you are the big winner UNLESS you didn't show up. If we pull the name of somebody who did NOT show up at the awards ceremony...then we throw away the ticket and pull another ticket. The people winning the 50/50 pot raffle will be people that paid in during the year, and actually showed up to the awards ceremony. CASH PURSE & AWARDS CEREMONY PRIZES For 2008, again we will be paying out big cash at the Awards Ceremony. What is different this year is the way the cash will be awarded. We will be utilizing the type of auction called a "Chinese Auction". What is a "Chinese Auction"? Chinese Auctions are actually a combination of auction and raffle, that is typically featured at charity or other fundraising events. In a Chinese auction, bidders are not prospective buyers (as in the conventional English auction). Instead, they use tickets, which are essentially chances to win items. Bidders may use as many tickets as they like, and "bid" them on any item(s) they want by placing them in a basket or other container in front of the item(s) they are trying to win. At the conclusion of bidding, the winning ticket is drawn from the tickets bid on each item, and the item is given to the owner of that ticket. A bidder may increase the chance of winning by placing more tickets on a specific item. Although there is generally no limit to the number of tickets a given individual may bid on a specific item, the chance of winning depends on the total number of tickets bid by all individuals. CASH ENVELOPES We will have a number of "Mystery" envelopes available to choose from. As we pull tickets from the "auction baskets" you will be able to pick from any of the remaining envelopes, and you will not know what you picked until after you open the envelope. BANQUET TICKETS One(1) Banquet Ticket is awarded to every paid event, one ticket per racer, per event. If you race an event, and pay to race, you will automatically be awarded one ticket regardless of final position. The exception being that the 1st place winner of each class earns one extra ticket per class win. If you enter one class and place first in that class, you earn one ticket for paying and attending that event, and you earn one bonus ticket for winning the class. If you enter all four classes, and place first in every class, you earn one ticket for paying and attending that event, and you earn four bonus tickets for winning all four classes. Maximum 5 tickets per event. Banquet raffle prizes are “must be present to win” prizes. We track all the entries and at the end of the year, at the banquet, you will receive the total number of tickets you earned during the course of the series. Please note, if you pay for a season membership, but only race at one event...you only receive ticket(s) for that one event. Key point being, those that show up the most, and show their support the most, get the most chances at the prizes. MIDWEST NITROCROSS EVENT RULES Midwest Nitrocross operates largely on "Host Track Rules" unless specifically stated elsewhere in these rules. You may find that some rules are either similar and/or identical to RC PRO SERIES rules. If you find yourself in direct conflict with any of the track rules on raceday, you may also find yourself in conflict with Midwest Nitrocross. If there is a problem or protest with regards to races, they need to be brought to the attention of one of the Midwest Nitrocross Track Officials immediately after the race in question. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK I acknowledge the risk of injury to myself and my property while preparing for and participating in remote control racing events. I will rely upon my own judgment and ability while participating in Midwest Nitrocross promoted events and assume all risks of injury or damage arising out of such participation. I will not sue or make any claim whatsoever against Midwest Nitrocross, or any facility hosting a Midwest Nitrocross event. This includes other participants of said events, or any authorized person or persons acting on the behalf of Midwest Nitrocross. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL Many of these host tracks are located on private property, so ultimately the host track management has the last say, but as a rule of thumb, you should NOT bring drugs or alcohol on the property of any host track, without the prior consent of the property owner or track management. If you are asked to dispose of said items by either a Host Track Official, or a Midwest Nitrocross Official, you must do so immediately. Refusal to do so will result in DISQUALIFICATION, and will NOT result in a refund of entry fees. DISQUALIFICATION Midwest Nitrocross reserves the right to refuse admission to anybody, at any time, for any reason. Un-sportsmanlike conduct will be dealt with according to a "warning". If the conduct persists, Midwest Nitrocross reserves the right to DISQUALIFY the guilty party or parties. DISQUALIFICATION will NOT result in a refund of entry fees. VEHICLE CLASS RULES POINTS Points will be awarded at four(4) events in the summer of 2008, one(1) of which will be utilized a a "throwout". Your single lowest score will be thrown out. Points for Midwest Nitrocross are awarded only to those racers registered with Midwest Nitrocross that day. Points are awarded in five(5) point increments, starting at 200 points, for your final position in the Main Event. The exception being the 1st place winner earns 5 bonus points. For example, 1st place = 200pts, 2nd place = 190 points, 3rd place = 185 points, 4th place = 180 points, 5th place = 175 points, etc. If your name is NOT on the main event printout, you will NOT be awarded points for the event. If there is a mistake on the main event printout, you MUST bring this to the attention of a MWNX Track Official. There are NO points awarded for top qualifier. TIE BREAKERS In the event of a tie in points, we will take into consideration the number of 1st place finishes each of the tied racers holds. Our process will continue down the line in this format to satisfy the tie in points. PLAQUES / TROPHIES Plaques will be awarded to the top five(5) positions in each nitro class at every event AND at the end of season Banquet. Trophies will be awarded to the top three(3) positions in each class at every event AND at the end of season Banquet. An un-determined list of prizes will also be distributed at the Banquet. Prizes will be raffled off at the Banquet, and everybody that raced in the series will have an equal chance of winning these prizes. BYRON FUELS CONTINGENCY Qualifying Categories are 8th Scale
Buggy and 8th Scale Truggy. Contingencies will be paid to quailying
racers at end of season based on overall points. You must first declare Byron Fuel as your primary fuel when registering for
any race. To do this, you must register with the Midwest Nitrocross race
